River City, Alberta is the pseudonym I’ve hung on my home town, Edmonton. The City of Edmonton is the capital city of the province of Alberta, nestled between British Columbia and Saskatchewan in western Canada.
The river that runs through the city is the North Saskatchewan River. According to Wikipedia, the North Saskatchewan is almost 1,300 kilometres long (that’s 800 miles to my American friends) and runs from the Columbia Icefield in the Rocky Mountains east through Prince Albert, Saskatchewan where it loses its individual identity in the Saskatchewan River. (And so ends your geography lesson.)
RiverCityAlberta is the name of my blogs. At its birth, RiverCityAlberta was to be the holder of stories, information and pictures that have some connection with River City. Over time though, I’ve allowed myself the luxury of writing about things that really have nothing to do with River City per se. Hope you don’t mind!
Please take a tour through RiverCityAlberta – take the express bus or mosey around on foot. Hopefully you’ll see something that strikes your fancy.
Thanks for stopping by!
