I’m Ron, a good-natured guy who’s happily married for more than three decades to a very special woman I call the Bos Lady. This past June marked 36 years — where indeed does the time go?
We have one happily married daughter, Kristen. She is married to Jason, and they have given us a wonderful granddaughter named Jamie; a cool-as-cucumber grandson, Matthew; and the latest, a gronk-baby named Marcus!
Our middle child, Brad, is married to a lovely young lady named Amanda, and they also have three children, all girls: Katelynn, MacKenzie, and Desiree.
Our youngest, Kevin, invariably keeps us laughing and is probably the funniest person we know. Kevin moved out not so long ago, leaving us as Empty Nesters. We didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at that milestone…
I’m a fan of the Edmonton Oilers and the Minnesota Vikings. Post-season celebrations have been few and far between in the past 10+ years, but it looks like things are changing for the better for both franchises. And both teams boast relatively new sandboxes to play in: Roger’s Place, the jewel in Edmonton’s new Ice District; and US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
River City, Alberta (Canada) — Edmonton — is my hometown. Like any place, it’s got its beauty marks and its warts. RiverCityAlberta, the blog, was conceived to give readers a taste of my city, but it’s grown into a broader existence of posts beyond River City.
I hope you find your time well spent here. Thanks for visiting!
